About Us
Credible Black Conveyancing Organisation
The course is open to all and in high demand and all our lecturers are qualified attorneys and Conveyancers registered as such with the Legal Practice Council in their various provinces. Initially operative within three provinces, it has increased its footprint to 5 – Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal to include Limpopo, Eastern Cape and Limpopo. Our partners in our journey have been, Lexis Nexis, Juta – who at present provide the e learning book – The ABC of Conveyancing – free of charge to the students on an annual basis. Our Course is based on the Juta textbook The ABC of Conveyancing and we are very grateful to Juta who have walked with us every step of the way by donating the textbooks to each of our students every year. If not for this generous contribution we would not be able to offer the course to those who need it most and who cannot afford to purchase a textbook. Juta has continued their support by also providing a free online e-textbook for each of our students.
BLACK CONVEYANCERS TRAINING ACADEMY (BCTA)
The BLACK CONVEYANCERS TRAINING ACADEMY (BCTA) was an initiative by its sister body THE BLACK CONVEYANCERS ASSOCIATION (BCA) aimed at ensuring that their conveyancing assistant and support staff have a thorough understanding of the conveyancing process, to increase their skill set and render performances of a high standard at the respective member firms within BCTA as well other applicants wanting to upskill themselves.
It agreed upon and commenced operations in 2006 as a relatively small institution and has morphed into an institution which has made huge and immeasurable strides in the conveyancing sector.
It has, despite huge financial constraints contributed to the upskilling of not only staff members of BCTA firms but also to the upliftment of applicants who met the qualifying criteria for admission. It is noteworthy to reflect on the premise herein in that whilst the BCTA needs to operate in a financially feasible environment, emphasis is placed on uplifting the marginalized and under privileged sectors of our society.
The other partners to this journey are Tasneem of Our Best Practice- who acts as our national co-ordinator, facilitator and assessor. Our moderator is Maryna Both who is also a co-author of the book – the ABC of Conveyancing.
